Hi I've got a zx6r 2001 model which I'd not used for a month and used it yesterday and there was a knocking noise from the front wheel which wasn't there before. The noise appeared to be consistent with wheel turning and was regular and didn't neccesarily get noiser with increased speed but appeared to dissapearing when braking. The calipers have been re built within last 100 miles and new pads fitted. I'm thinking the bearings need replacing. Would I be right ?
as Fin says. Unlikely a bearing will collapse whilst parked for a month. ride a mile or so with a small bit of front brake applied.
Ok thanks. I'll have a look at the disks. I did have a quick look when I got home and couldn't see anything obvious but it was dark
Calipers have been rebuilt 100miles ago would be something to investigate. I would have a good look at them and check tightness of bolts, correct positioning of pads, and retaining pins etc.
