Out on my 999S today for the first time in ages, roads were dry so I thought go for it....stopped at a local gathering place for bikes and was surprised to see that quite a few others had the same idea ,including 3 ducati's....anyway got off and went for a cup of tea and when I came back there were the duc owners looking at my bike,2 liked it but the third was having a bit of a rant about it being non standard...aftermarket one-off fairing ,rearsets ,levers etc etc....I didn't really care what he thought ,the bike is unique to me. Whats the general consensus...standard versus non.
It's your 999S - it's your duty to keep it standard! No but really, it's traditional to mod your Ducati whilst it is yours.
Bolt on all the non-standard bits you fancy. Keep the original bits in a box. Put them back on in years to come.
wouldn't it be boring if all bikes were the same Christ what we have to talk about comparing bitch strips lol
It works all ways round, used to have a mate who ran rings round all manner of Jap Superbikes 'and' a Duke 888 on his GPZ500 Twin - the guy on the 888 was a racer too I don't have any bitch strips anyway so couldn't compete, is that bad (thought they were called chicken strips - some girls are fast)
All the modifications there look good, quite subtle and in keeping with the bikes look. Generally mostly standard with subtle tweaks is what I find looks best.
