Maybe you're both members on here so thought I'd say hello properly , one 12 plate and the other 14 plate, looks like the lads on the RSV4's were with you....... I was the jealous father carrying my baby girl showing her the bikes wishing I was on mine , she loves em bless her, 16 months old and she's watched every wsbk and motogp race since she was born (her mum hates me for it) Over here with the kids at the minute and promised Ella (my eldest at 10) another lap of the ring so took her round in the family wagon (A4 estate), one of you put up a good show at Adenau Bridge, just dropped the knee in front of us and then the same again heading back up the hill..... Nice touch although I've since had to listen to 'how cool' you looked for the remainder of my lap in an under powered diesel which has led to me going through my phone showing her pictures of me doing the same
Oh and Ralph (the owner of the hotel we stay at) is a massive Ducati fan and multiple bike owner, I didn't notice his latest display of affection until I looked out my bedroom window this morning Can you guess what it is?
Hi, i am not the guy with the Panigale but i live out here and was on track this morning instructing in cars. Also a bike nut i am often rattling about on a red 996 with yellow number boards. Never seen that hotel before or rather not one with a bike in a box, where are you staying? Do you ever ride bikes out here?
Panigales are OK noise wise on the NS? Last time I was there with a mate on his Pani, they wouldn't let him through the main barriers because of noise. He ended up sneaking on at Adenau instead...
Will be out there @doogalman Aug bank holiday and think we may drop over for a morning or afternoon. Dave & co are out there next week aren't they?
Hi Bradders, yup dave and co are out this thursday for the weekend. Maybe pop up and say hi. Assume you are keeping well. What are you riding nowadays??
Anyone going on the ring, this is the best place to find pics of yourselves. Just select date and view the galleries from the many snappers . Sometimes takes a few days for them to organise and upload pics to the site so have a look when you get home, Ringportal » RingPhotographersCalendar
Hotel Hullen mate, Barweiler. I've been coming here for 7-8 years and love the place, hence why I even bring the kids. Normally come on bikes with the lads, Hullen has a superb 'guest' garage which had everything you'll ever need, plus Ralph is a massive Ducati fan so knows way more than I ever will about making them tick
I thought the same, a few years back I couldn't make it past the barrier on my KTM RC8 running the Akra evo, that's when I had my first Blade experience as my mate kept lending me his. Both panigale today running termis, absolutely no doubt at all as I checked them out proper
Working at the Ring as an instructor we see an awfull lot of things with TF and trackdays. Noise is one area where luck and timing can play a big role. As everyody knows it is regulated as a public road and road limits DO apply. However, being spotted at the barrier without a baffle in the pipe will get you noise tested. Not saying that means a lot as it is a visual check on pressence of a baffle. BUT there is random noise testing carried out at several track points, These are generally after the bridge at Quiddlebach and after Ex Muhle on the run down to Lauda Links. If a vehicle does trip these it goes via an office in Berlin or somewhere and a photo of the vehicle and reading is relayed to the Ring office, this they have to act upon and the vehicle will be pulled aside on exit and barred. Even my 996 with baffles in i will roll off if i spot the noise tester.
Always found the ones who get tested are the ones revving the tits off it in the car park. Funny that Didn't know you were instructing, do you come back to the UK these days?
Yes the marshals will pick them out but very often if they are standing over the ticket machine they will have a sneaky look while you are putting the card on the pad. head to the uk as little as poss nowadays as here full time , normaly for the occassional family thing or to collect some of Kim;s book-keeping that she still occassionally does for her one remaining client. Instructing in cars for 3 years now, anything from hot hatches to supercars. Split between Ring and Spa, at spa wednesday all day so lifes not too bad, which is just aswell as we are semi-retired nowadays.
Here's a couple more of Ralphs collection, I think he's got about 16 Ducati in total, they're spread across a 2 level garage which also has a Renault Alpine in, and the rest are literally found dotted around the family property. Darcey keeps finding them, any garage she can crawl into she's gone
