  1. As above really, a few of us are meeting at Murgatroyds Fish and Chip Restaurant near Leed Bradford Airport. 18.30-1900. Intention to head North via Pateley Bridge through To Ripon then Leyburn, maybe further. 3 so far. Anyone else?

  2. Not normally back to Richmond before 6. Maybe I could meet you somewhere along the route?

  3. Heading your way anyway. Ripon, Leyburn et al. My best guess would be Leyburn 2000. Top of the market square. Or Ripon about 7.30 by the clock tower. PM me your number and I'll text when we set off.

  4. I've just spent the bleeding weekend near Ripon! Actually it was the middle of Bumfucknowhere. To get to the house/venue for the wedding I had to drive about 6 miles on what can loosely be described as a single farm track. I'd have been screwed if something was coming the other way.

God knows where #2 son and wife found this venue!

I'd rather ride around close to Otley so it's not too far to get back and I piss off SWMBO by getting in late

  5. On an 848 evo corse you want to ride round near Otley? Nowt there, Ripon/Leyburn is less than an hour and the riding is ace. Bike not that quick then? Bumfucknowhere? It's brilliant. What's your curfew?

  6. Not a curfew. But I'm a couple of hours away at least from Leyburn (going the scenic route), so we'd no sooner get there than we'd be riding back, that's all. How about going to Skipton?

  7. No curfew no problem. Tell her how it is. Hate the A59.

  8. Issues at work = me London bound for a meeting on Wed. Tuesdays a no go for me this week, bummer!

This Weekend is looking good if anyone can do that?

  9. Saturday's a no-no but I can prolly do Sunday.

  10. There must be a compromise here chaps?....It is a trek back for EL Toro I agree best closer to home? Ripon and the rest when we have more time?

  11. Just organise your own ride. Start your own thread. I'm out.

  12. Without trying to hijack the thread - if anyones keen for a weekend meet up (Sun looks better for El Toro), I would be keen.

Not sure about the weather, but if anyones interested I will start a new thread.

Supervee's route does sound good - sounds like he's the man to show us some roads if possible?

  13. Posted at the same time Supervee - sorry to hear that. What about Sunday?

  14. My rides are brilliant, ask those who know me. I can't stand all this fucking about, time, duration, location, start point, end point, options. You can't organise rides by committee. For years and years I did lots of ride outs then got fed up of shit responses like this and gave up. I've given up again.

  15. I learnt a while ago its a fuggin waste of time. best way it for mofos to do their own thing and if paths cross in the general direction. then all well and good lol ;)

  16. Sorry you feel that way however........

To do what YOU want to do please consider this.......I will have put 10-11 hours in to work before I finish at 5.00/5.30pm. Then I'd need to go home, get kitted up and ride at least an hour to get to Otley (if not longer depending on traffic at hat time in the evening). That'd take me to round 6.30/7pm. Then ride up to Leyburn which will take another hour and a half at least - if you take a scenic route. And then I will have a two and a half hour ride home. Which takes me to around 10.30/11.00pm before I get home. And that's without having stoped to eat.

Now like I say, it's a school night, so a tad impractical (for me at least). If it was a weekend then I have no problems spending the whole day up that neck of the woods. But during the week I'd probably rather limit an evening run out to two or three hours.

If you'd like to meet up Sunday for an all day ride then I'm up for it.

  17. You're not the only one works you know, some of the rest of us have a job, working for ourselves too! It's not a school night either, kids across the nation are ON HOLIDAY. I AM doing what I want. Like I said you can't organise rides by committee.

Some of us have better things to do on a Sunday rather than join the rest of the ill-mannered, poorly skilled, slooow Power Rangers on the same packed rat runs observed at great length by plod....................

I might get out this Sunday but it will probably be a 6.30 start, home by about one.

  18. 1. School night = work day evening.

    2. You're obviously a well mannered racing God and we mere mortals probably wouldn't be able to keep up with you anyway.

    3. Enjoy your ride out on Sunday early doors.

  19. It's a good runout, but with it dark by just after 9pm. It's a lonely ride home in pitch black of the night back to Saddleworth Moor. TBH it's a run for the locals on a school night. For us the weekend is a far better opportunity to do that distance (some 250+ miles from memory).

As its gathering pace.with numbers, I prefer to stick with about 4/5 people or less in a group of similar abilities and understanding. So.have fun if you head out.

There is also this run at the weekend coming up too.
