  1. Ok so have 4 screws out and 2 dutz but can’t remove the side fairing , I noticed an Allen screw down by the headlight inside front fairing , does this need removing,if so how ?

  2. From memory :

1 dzus joining front nose fairing
2 dzus attaching fairing to frame
1 dzus at aft lower area near footrest
2 dzus or bolts joining the two fairings on lower centreline

  3. mine seems to be ,2 dzus to frame ,1 dzus rear near stand ,then M5 rivnut x 2 under belly,
front 1 X m5 screw to outer front cowel, but it wont shift ,notice an allen screw down the inside the fairing front between lights , a bitch if thats to come out, cant get my hand in

  4. Well that’s not a good start IMG_8027.jpeg

  5. Oh bugger! Time for some plastic weld. Or....this stuff is perfect for such repairs.....the good thing is that it's partly flexible so won't crack unlike an epoxy resin. I use it for bonding camera mounts to my helmet where the contour wont let me use conventional 3M tape and it is a lot less messy, if worked correctly.

  6. Will sugru adhere to plastic ? I knew it could be formed and went hard, but I didn't realise it had adhesive properties ?

  7. I was thinking tiger seal , it was bloody tight will lube when replacing

  8. Bugger, I was going to say 'watch out for the spigot/grommet just near the front fixing' - sorry.

  9. Have a look from the top of page 13 here:- https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/project-999.87890/
Although that is specifically for the wing mirrors on my 999, the materials are the same.

I've found that the different formulation of Gorilla 'GEL' superglue means it sticks plastics well.
I then back it up with the same manufacturers epoxy which also sticks well with a bit of a key given to the surface.

I had exactly the issue you've shown with one on my 999 panels.
I glued it back on with the Gel Superglue, then formed a small top hat in fine Stainless steel mesh which fitted over the top of the upstand and the brim part on the flat panel.
I then covered it in the epoxy and it was one of the few bits that didn't break when I had an accident on the bike.

  10. Super glue and baking soda, loads of you tube videos, fixed my 1199 nose fairing with it, beware the fumes tho

  11. Cheers for the inputs, will try epoxy and maybe pipe adhesive we use at work kind melts and bonds
First day of Ducati ownership, will be extra careful with the other side and lube pins to fit back
