I have come up with a solution for those not having a bypass code card for the bikes using just 2 black keys (no red key). This will probably apply to bikes up to the release of the Panigale that use this style key. This system is known as I2K Definitely the 848/1098/1198 The transponder needs reading from the keys using a Zedbull or similar. I have a Zedbull to do the key reading. This will give an 8 byte code. I have two pieces of software that allow me to convert the recovered 8 byte code into the 8 byte code held in the dash immo chip. The process identifies two bypass codes, both of which will work The code will also allow the programming of new keys Ducati will tell you that they cannot issue you a replacement Code Card. So if you are looking at a bike with one black key or two black keys but no code card then this is not a deal breaker (I would use it to get more money off the bike) PM me if interested
Your speaking gobblegook to me but I get your gist. I reckon your going to be a very popular man. 1098 red key and code cards have been a pain since they came out. Well done Chris.
Agreed ! I discounted so many bikes when looking for an 848 due to missing keys and/or key card, I just didn’t want the potential ball ache usually associated with it ! Nice work and glad it’s a service I won’t be needing, but something that could help out others
*****Update- solution found ******* UPDATE - it would appear that Ducati have changed the transponder type in the 2 key bikes. You do not get the expected readout on the Zedbull device that allows the bypass code to be calculated. You will not know this until the code is read. The only guaranteed way to get the code is to read the immo chip on the dash. Ducati have not made this easy as some of the 2 key dashes are sealed and some, like the HM use a different immo chip. If you have an 848/1098/1198 then it can be done quite easily.
