Notchy First Gear Engage On 998r

  1. Down shifting into first on a 998R feels very notchy. It has a new Sigma clutch, master and slave cylinder so I don't think that area is causing it. Any gearbox specialists out there to advise? Worn selector? The bike is sub 10K Miles.

  2. Notchy gear change is usually due to clutch drag

  3. Thanks for your response Derek. Pretty sure its not that. See first post. Also other gears are fine. Engine off, in gear, clutch disengaged and rear wheel turns by hand.

  4. i had a sigma clutch on an 899 and it was notchy on nearly all down shifts, apparently its what they do when losing torque when not putting it through to the engine
