Chaps, I've been asked to do some research on the Factory 999s from '06 '07. '06 was the year Bayliis won the world championship. I need photographs of the front of the bike, particularly the screen area and the fork bottoms. I've done the usual google searches and found a few useful pics, but nothing that's really relevant to what I'm looking for. I was thinking that the community might have more information. I'd like to see anything you have, but particularly any information you have regarding sponsorship by Hokkaido. Sorry to be so vague, but I don't have a lot to go on. If this works out, I might be able to arrange something interesting for the people here. Thanks!
ah, this is so frustrating! This is the exact fairing I'm looking for: I've seen plenty with Hokkaido on the lower fairing, but only this one without. Is this an early season design?
Jerry, I have the Ducati Corse yearbooks that have pics from right through both seasons, although the 07 superbike section is a bit sparse due to Casey being featured. The pic on your pc screen looks like 07. All the pics in 06 yearbook show Hokkaido on the red part just below the xerox on the front numberboard side. Also BREIL +sqiggle on the blacked out bit centre screen. The 07 has BREIL milano on blacked centre screen. Have a look at the minichamps models on ebay, they are pretty accurate. Keith.
ugh - I've got Breil Milano and Hokkaido on the screen surround, but no Hokkaido on the lower fairing. The top fairing looks like this: but the lower Hokkaido is missing. This: All sizes | red | Flickr - Photo Sharing! is close, but no Hokkaido at all. Thanks Keith!

Have you got what you need Jerry? A friend of mine ran the sponsorship programme at Xerox and may have more info if you need it. He's a keen photographer too so has loads of pics.
THanks chaps, getting close but not exactly what I've been asked to match. Paul, would you mind talking to your buddy? The key thing is the Hokkaido logo on the 'top' fairing but none below. It's possible they were early season, or early test fairings. From what I've seen, the bike is proper, but it's good to have all the questions answered.
if you go to crash.net you can look at pictures from whatever race series ie WSB for what ever year ie 2005 2006 then whatever location round by round...........so you could track when it was there and when it left! WSBK Photo Picture Archive | Page 43 | Crash.Net
How about you talk to him directly. Take at look at my friends list on Facebook, you'll find him on there. His initials are DM. Friend request him, tell him I sent you and why, and I'm sure he'll help you out.
Anyway Jerry what's the jist behind all this, why such interest about being precise on an air conditioning logo.
it might make the difference between a bike that is worth spending proper money on and one that's not. The guy who has asked me to look at this has the same concerns: that the Hokkaido logo is '06, but the Breil Milano and the OM logos are '07. Why??
oh, now, that's interesting! The preload adjuster is correct. The factory unit has this oil activated valve, which takes the pressure off the spring and allows the preload adjuster to be turned by hand.
So are you implying that somebody? is looking to buy a Bayliss 999rs but there are concerns about whether the bike or the fairing fitted to the bike is circa an 06 bike. There is a possibility though that fairing stickers can differ or be omitted simply because of human error or a fuck it attitude because the person applying such stickers could have messed up and thrown them out for that particular fairing. shed more light Jerry it's a darkend room here.
there's a bike in England that was at Goodwood a couple of years ago and is for sale. We're trying to check the provenance.
