Numb Bum!

Discussion in 'Sport Touring' started by SteelCityBaggie, Aug 3, 2014.

  1. Had my ST3 for a year now. Brilliant! Not long back from a two day trip around the Western Front with my daughter riding pillion. She didn't miss a beat (Bike, not daughter) Only grumble is numb arses after an hour. It would have been nice to get down to Dover with only one stop for petrol!

So, what are peoples recommendations for countering numb bum syndrome? I've seen the Airhawk seat, but can't justify the £170 for just the rider!

  2. massage :upyeah:

  3. Corbin seat ? Still see them on e-bay every now and again... Haven't tried it myself, but they are reckoned to be better than the OE seat...

  4. Can't say if it would work for everyone, but when I took my old CBR down to Devon a few years ago a pair of padded cycling shorts under the leathers made a big difference, you can get them got change from £15, so maybe worth a try.

I wore them in lieu of underwear where they had the added bonus of not bunching up in the way boxers do, fitted (tight) stretchy fabrics are the way forward under riding kit.

  5. massage again obviously with extras :Cigar:

  6. Happy ending I hope

  7. Give your bum a rub
Nothing worse than a numb bum

  11. The Baggies are awesome.

That's at least 3 Baggies fans on this forum (or it would be if Stressed Hippo is still on here. It was him, wasn't it?).

  12. Thread definitely closed ;)

  13. Who are the baggies?

  14. They are the ones whose leather pants have lost their tightness
