As the 890 is nearing the end of its rebuild I overhaul the fuel tank with new filters and pipes,however the dreaded plastic nut was split upon inspection! I have found both Aluminium and titanium replacements but delivery is 3-4 weeks from America,I tried John hacker today thinking he MUST make a replacement but he doesn't! does anyone know of any company that actually stocks a metal nut ,or does anyone have a plastic nut that I can buy to get the project finished (I will then order one online ) The same nut is fitted to 748/916/996/998 and monsters up to 2001 and all 900 super sports. Thanks but I have already found these but at least 21 days delivery ,ideally need to find one in stock somewhere or a secondhand plastic one as a temporary measure
The nut of a cheap household thermostatic radiator valve is the same thread. Used one on mine for about 15 years. cheap as chips!
