hi all, thinking of making the trip to NI for the NW in May. I'm from the IOM so used to the buzz of the road racing scene etc, but was wondering if anyone had any tips for camping up there? Ideally is there a site that will provide tents ready set up, as per the TT? Cheers.
There are also plenty of good cheap B&Bs to be had. We went in 2009 and stayed in Portrush which was very good for the craic and just a walk along the sea front to the paddock. We had a brilliant time. The circuit is astonishingly fast. Seeing Robert Dunlop's accident at Mathers Cross and then Michael win the day after from our seats at the start/finish line made it the most memorable weekend of racing I have ever been to. I reckon everyone in the grandstand was in tears! Incredible.
camped there for dundrod , good we place great little village bushmilles. feck me aren't the Irish friendly.
if anyone looking to guesthouse then start looking now its usually pretty busy.there used to be ad hoc camping along the coast road which was some craic but long stopped.i think there are official camp sites, contact the race organisers or discover northern Ireland web site. you havnt played pass the parcel until youv played it here lol. plenty to see and do,joeys bar, millsport, pit walk, races, practice, Guinness, food at the harbour, Guinness at the harbour, etc etc etc.great coast road from larne to portrush, possibly the best in the uk.
anyone at the nw sees me on my red sport classic (English registration number ) come say hi.where you based dave?im near moira.
