Nw200

  1. Hi,
I'm off to the North West 200 next week. I've been to the TT several times but never to NW200.
Wondering about good viewing points and wether to go for grandstand tickets.
    What do you think?

  2. I was there a few years ago and we had seats in the bleachers at the bottom of primrose hill in Portstewart, cracking spot as they blast down the start line hill, slam on the anchors, lean crazily over and scream up the hill. It's also right in the town so near the bars and chuck wagons; what more can you ask for? Cracking w/e - most envious...

  3. That “Grandstand” has sold out, which probably shows it’s the best one!
There’s two grandstands at the start/finish and opposite in the pits, anyone been to either of these?

  4. I've been many times to the north west, but not for quite a few years. It can be tricky getting a good spot. Petrol stations turn into deli's when the road shuts and offer shelter and hard parking, which can come in very handy with the Irish weather.

Expect massive race day crowds, if you're staying out of town, slip in via ballintoy, back road and free of traffic, main roads are a snarl up.

Have a run round the circuit on the Friday and choose a spot, head right to it on race day.

    Enjoy :upyeah:

As road races go, it's not the best, UGP was far better but as an holiday weekend, it's a belter.

Oh, and ride the coast road, it's brilliant

  5. I had a great time watching the racing and camping out
Try avoiding the Jameson’s/ Guinness/ casualty dept though, it’s not as good as it’s made up to be.

  6. I head up on Thursday, it's a great evening of racing, I am usually around the start finish area Quarry, Juniper Hill, there's a bar there. Big crowds expected so get up early on Saturday morning, just makes it easier to get where you want to be. 3 days of fun, it's a good weekend, but the weather unfortunately is unpredictable.

Hope you have a great weekend.

  7. I'm heading over tomorrow. Probably viewing from metropole, and can walk up towards start/finish line

  8. First few races were decent.

jezza McWilliams what a legend at 58 years old and on the podium

  9. Some amazing skill in the wet, watching from York corner some great late wet braking!
Great to see McWilliams going so well as I’m the same age, so still some hope for me.

  10. Pretty nuts tyre issues going on. Almost full delamination in some cases.

  11. There’s a mad video of Mickey D sideways at probs 160+ as his tyre delaminates going around

  12. Anyone from on here with a white multi reg MRZ? I was following you for while on the Coast road after the racing finished.

  13. Just such a shame tyre problems depleted the final (and to a lesser extent the first)Super Bike race, still some amazing racing
Enjoyed my visit and will come again
