Hey folks, I'm aware this subject has been covered several times on the forum, however when I search I find conflicting views and mostly quite old threads.. I have a 2018 v4 which is now out of warranty, so it's Time to start Home services, I will therefore need a tool to reset the service light and perhaps aid with other jobs.. Could somone knowledgeable please point me in the right direction. Cheers Ben
Hi Ben, this link is pretty good. i think the kit is quite cheap https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/service-indicator-successfully-reset.91747/
Albeit at a cost I can recommend the ODBStar iScan. Using melcoDiag is a cheaper option though, that's if it works with your ECU plus it needs specific leads and a laptop (not sure if it still needs to be Win8). Your profile doesn't say where you're located. If local to a member who already has an ODBStar they maybe able to do the reset for you and demonstrate what can be done with these. Though they may need the Euro 5 6 pin diagnostic lead that now comes with new units from BMDiag. Previous versions didn't include this later lead though they can be bought for around £10.
Thanks for the replies, I'll have a go with the amazon scanner 1st and report back, for £30 seems worth a try, hopefully it doesn't brick the ecu .. I'm near worthing west sussex if any scanner owners are local? Ben
OK so to follow up, the melcoDiag software along with the forscan odb2 tool was able to reset the service light. The licence email came back overnight and was a 2 minute job to do. Thanks again for the help! Ben
