998 Oem Airbox Seal Replacement

  1. I purchased an OEM airbox seal rubber kit for my 998 and I was wondering if anyone has a good technic to install without removing the airbox. I don’t see the rubber prongs pushing into the holes easily. I should have just purchased weather stripping but we are where we are. Just don’t want to remove the airbox for such a small job if possible. I’m sure someone has managed this knowing the creative minds on this forum.

  2. I always removed the airbox on my 748 and 916.
Easy job, takes about 5 minutes.

  3. Best way I’ve found is to put a smear of red rubber grease on the prongs then pull them through the airbox with pliers. Like RickyX said, 5 minute jobby

  4. Thanks guys … I won’t be lazy so will take the airbox off. Replacing fuel lines anyway

  5. Well I can tell you I have zero patience when trying to install the airbox rubber OEM seal replacement. For the life of me I can’t get those grommets in those damn holes. I think I’ll just use draft excluder before I lose my mind.

  6. You can't push them through, you need to pull them through.
Put a teeny dab of grease on the hole, push the thin tip through then gently pull from the other side with needle nose pliers.
Think of it as a sex game.
