1098 Oem Front Discs Sizes On 1098 And 1198?

  1. Hi
Can someone let me know please if 1098 and 1198 use the same discs?
Also are they all the same for std , S and R version?

Just got some HPK 320mm discs and not sure what bike they fit other then 1098 and if they do need any spacers?
    Any info is much appreciated.

  2. The standard on the 1098R is 330mm and the traction sensor bracket acts as a spacer. I thought the 320mm was standard on the 848 but that is easy enough to check on the Ducati.com web site. Andy
Update, it would appear after a cursory check that all the 1098/1198 use 330mm discs.

  3. Thanks
Hmmm??? What was the point for Brembo to do 320mm discs rather then std 330mm?
Normally you will go bigger or oem but not smaller.
Just looked at brembo catalogue and looks like they list few bikes with the same 320mm discs.

  4. 320 was a Cagiva (then Ducati) benchmark dia which they decided was adequate in either single or twin configuration, even interchangeable with the Mito in it's earliest form. It could be that the later type disc in that diameter was seen as easy to adopt/ a known quantity possibly using existing stock fitted to other models.

  5. My source information is the Ducati.com model archive which details the model specification by year. I cannot explain why there should be a difference between that and the Brembo catalogue. Andy

  6. Just found some info on the other forum that Brembo decided that 320mm in HP discs is much better option over stock 330mm dia.
Just wonder why they started doing 330mm for 1199 and 1299???

Anyway, thank you all for the input.

  7. Sorry to jump in on this thread, but could someone please tell me if the 848 streetfighter front discs fit a 1098s?

  8. If the bells are ok why not put new 330 rotors in to them....
