  1. Hi all
Are the stock display stands supposed to have abit of lean? I don’t like how mines sitting so it’s back on its sidestand. IMG_6778.jpeg

  2. That’s not usual - stands did have I believe different diameter spindles or that one has been bent perhaps…

  3. The one I had like that was similarly slightly on the piss.
Never had a bike fall off it though in the time I used it - couple of years.
Obviously the best option is a nice DP/Gubellini one.

  4. Thanks both, I think there is a slight bend on the pin then. Will pick up a better one like Ricky suggested.

  5. I’ve a pitbull brought it back from the states. Brillant bit of kit esp with the bearing in it so you can rotate the rear wheel for chain cleaning etc.

  6. I’ve seen it reversed to occupy less space, are you able to do that on the 916?

  7. If you mean the arm yes it can be reversed I’ve got it so I can hold the handlebar and the pitbull handle and slip the pin into the rear wheel and just push the bar down and she’s up.

  8. Sold it to me mate, I’ll keep my eye out for one.

  9. From what I've seen a small lean is the norm.

I've got an aftermarket stand of pretty much the same design and it's a sturdy thing but even if the pin is 100% level the bike will lean slightly due to the small amount of play between pin and axle (if none, it won't go in) plus, there's a fair amount of weight on there.

The only time I ever had a problem was once when lubing the chain, so rotating the wheel on the stand and despite having a rotating pin, the bike worked it's way off and fell away from me.

Luckily the fall was broken by my car! :astonished: and not much damage to anything except bending the tank front retaining pin and a couple of minor scuffs...

  11. Harris stand, it's got a long stud that goes through the axle from the r/h side with a large conical washer which makes sure the bike cannot work its way off the stand by accident.
It's also really well made and you can buy different size pins to suit whatever make/model it's being used on.
