1199 Oh No...ohlins

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Reaperman, Apr 30, 2014.

  1. Having only had my Panigale 1199S for just a month it has developed a DES fault. I have since learnt from the Ducati Service Centre that the fault relates to a rebound issue on the rear Ohlins unit. The bike is still rideable but the unit will have to be replaced. Whilst Im happy that the guys found the fault it surprises me that its happened in an Ohlins unit

  4. Wouldn't worry, it will match the blown fork seals you're about to get

  5. It does happen, as people have said the old Ohlins stuff tended to have slightly weaker fork seals

  6. Be glad your fork legs are ok lol.Its seems to be the manufacturer spec ohlins that has a lot of problems lately. Not much has changed then.

When I purchased my duke secondhand it already had ducati ohlins fitted to it.So I flogged em on fleabay and purchased the ohlins r&t stuff instead .Did the same with the ohlins rear shock.

I was told the showa stuff had higher quality internal parts compared to the ducati ohlins.
