I've just replaced the leaking fork seal on my 1098s fitted with Ohlin Fg511 forks. Made the necessary tools and all fine however next time I want to remove the cartridge to fully clean the bottom which requires a cartridge removal tool. In order to make one does anyone have the dimensions of the castalated nut at the top of the cartridge i.e OD, ID and number of slots ? Once I make this tool I will create a post on all dimensions of parts to dismantle the fg511 along with some help on what's required. Basically I've made three tools based on watching you tube videos but to be honest you only need two - one to remove top cap and syringe to set air gap. In addition a good work bench like a workmate to support fork assembly is ideal. I could get an idea of sizes but would need to remove and dismantle fork again which I would rather avoid. I've been informed it's around a two hour job and with seals costing £75 you can save some good money. Same process to change oil as well but does not require heat to remove seals easily. They almost pop out.
