ohlins fork seals

  1. anyone got an idea on cost to replace ohlins fork seals in my 1000 , please don't let it be too dear or I'm gonna be tempted by another 1200

  2. Fork seals are what £10 plus dust seals £10 , so £20 for parts , then what , you take the forks out and take them in . An hours work two tops , £160 max.

  3. never taken forks out before but reckon it can't be that bad , umm going to think best way to go

  4. Very easy to take forks out , depending on the type of bike you'll need to support the front end with either a headstock stand or tie it up with a strap to an overhead beam .

  5. multistrada 1000 , quite heavy i imagine just hope the beams in my shed will take the weight

    I'd phone the nearest place to get a price on the fitment of those seals before I took the forks out though.

  7. £54 from a Ducati dealer. If you google changing Ohlins seals there is a very good You Tube Video. Quite a simple task to change them

  9. Probably £54 JUST for the seals ;)

    if you have a centre stand, block of wood or trolley jack under the front cylinder will do, always easier with two in case its not as steady as you thought

  13. Flippin eck!.........less than 24 hours from to how to put fork seals in my 1000Ds to I've bought a 1200! :eek:
    If only life was always that easy! lol
