Ohlins Forks Stripped Compession Adjuster

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Alan-g, Apr 6, 2019.

  1. So i got my Hyper 950 Sp yesterday.
First bike i have had with adjustable suspension.
So i downloaded the ohlins app which is pretty good at showing you how to adjust all the settings. I got the sag all set, Then moved on to the compression adjustment on the forks.

However (probably due to my haste to get back out on the bike) i completely stripped the hex adjuster.
I couldn't fit my tbar allen key in due to handlebars, so i had a 3mm allen bit from my socket set with an extension and screwdriver handle. As i screwed the adjuster to the closed position the adjuster drops down and the bit bottomed out on the preload adjuster and when it got to the max it just stripped with no resistance.
I tried some other tools from my work but its completely buggered.

    Where i need help:
Does anyone know whats involved in replacing the adjuster screw?
Ia the adjuster screw replaceable or is it a complete fork cap?
    Where would i get parts?
How do i find out the model number of the forks?

Surely someone has done this kind of damage before as it stripped with hardly any force at all. It seems to be made of cheese

  2. Give James at JWR Suspension, Louth, a call.
I'm sure he'll be able to help. I've just shipped my Ohlins shock off to him for some adjuster work.
