Have got the forks and yokes on, now fitting front wheel but when fitted ala showas the wheels slides along the axle as if something is missing or the axle too short? Any clues? Afaik they are 1098 style forks and came off a non evo 848...mines an evo, any difference?
Give Ducati Glasgow a call, they made an 848R with Ohlins. T'was the 1 in MCN a few years ago. Maybe they can help?
I've started building an early R1 with ohlins and brembo brakes i think you may need a bigger spacer in-between the wheel and the fork. When i got harris performance to make me some brackets for the brembo brakes to fit onto the ohlins forks they also supplied me with the correct spacer so this could be the problem your having.
Looking at the workshop manual, seems I have misplaced the rhs spacer somehow hence doesnt fit. Doh. No idea where or how, but suspect I fitted the wheels back in without checking, and left it in my old wheels I sold, and must have just fitted brakes etc and not noticed the wheel moved laterally! DR tomorrow then
Part 9 If I knew the size I could check thru all my tool box to see of if it got put away by accident
I'm not sure if the same ohlins fork are on my Ducati 1098s as the ones your using but i maybe able to check tomorrow as i'm planing on opening up the garage to do some work on my bikes if this helps.
Thx, they should be 1098 ones i've fitted yes. Cant remember the model number by made 2009, fg811 or 911 or something The view from the front on mine is the large spacer on rhs as you look at it, but nothing protruding from the wheels on lhs (non nut side) so seems clear its missing
