Hi All, does anyone know if an Ohlins rear shock off a 749/999 will fit my 97' 916?, or if an Ohlins off any other Duc will for that matter...looking to upgrade from the tatty Showa currently fitted.
No. 749/999 shocks are different lengths. You can use any 748/916/996/998 shock though. If you're not bothered about the "badge", have a look at Nitron. Great shocks and good value. They're a better shock than the oem spec Ohlins, are UK made, with good support and are built to suit you and your planned usage
I put a Nitron catridge kit and rear shock on the Monster 937 and it transformed the handling of the bike. Andy
Only a steering damper which performed as well as a much more expendive Öhlins. Dealt directly with the company in the Netherlands when I needed a spare part and they were brilliant. Andy
