Ohlins Shock Lengths 748 / 749

  1. I have had a quick google and not found what I was after - anyone know the lengths of a 748 and a 749 shock? (Ohlins) - I have a spare 748 Ohlins knocking around and it looks about the right size for me to maybe use on my 749 but its difficult to be sure with the 749 shock still being on the bike!

  2. Overall length (305mm) and stroke (71mm) are the same but the 749 had a stiffer spring as standard. Andy

  3. Perfect - Just what I was looking for! I just so happen to have a spare stiffer spring also should be ok to swap :upyeah:

  4. I think the orientation of the cartridge body is different between the two. Might have an effect on fitting.

  5. they should fit as long as the compession canister doesn't get in the way of anything

  6. The 916 canister kinda drops to avoid the sub-frame, so a 999 may not fit on a 916.
    Other way around should work...Hmmm.
I've looked into this a few times when a nice 999 ohlin pops up.

  7. Looking at it quickly the canister shouldn't get in the way! I shall be trying it as soon as I get a chance!
