998 Oil Cooler Fairing A Piece Question

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by motecben, Apr 23, 2020.

  1. I am looking for an A piece for a 998R. Part number 484.1.037.1A Does anyone know if they are different to the standard 998? There appears to be a different part number 484.3.039.1A. I can purchase a 998 version one from Carbon King unless anyone has other suggestions? Thanks

  2. Same part physically. Maybe ones plastic and the others C/F.

  3. They might have been CF as std on the 998R.

  4. There are a whole bunch of variations of part number listed
48410371A 996R, 998R, 998S Bayliss and Bostrom and 998 described as B Air Conveyor (pretty sure its the CF one as it is twice the price)
    48410391AA 998 Red A Air conveyor
    48410391AB 998 Yellow A Air conveyor
    48410391AX 998 Matrix A Air conveyor
48430391A 998 and 998 Matrix A Air conveyor ( I think this is the unpainted one)
    48430431A 998 FE E Air Conveyor
    48410431AA 998 FE C Air Conveyor
    48410301A 996RS E type baffle

The RS ones appear to have 2 large cut outs, the 998 and matrix ones two cut outs like the standard 748, 916 and 996 and the ones for the R and FE have a single rectangular cut out

  5. My fe has a single hole. As per all 998.

    Mine is red plastic.

  6. My 996R has a C/F one - single aperture

  7. Must say I have never seen a 998 with two holes but the fiches clearly show different types for the various part numbers.

  8. Thanks for all your input. I have had an inspirational moment over night and have found the one that came with the bike and was hiding with the brand new fuel tank that I bought about 18months ago. Will post pictures later with any marked part numbers - just to put Denzil's mind at rest!

  9. OK So here are IMG_0439.JPG IMG_0438.JPG the photos of the one I have (and will use).
