Oil Pick Up Filter

  1. Changing the oil for the 1st time on my 748Bp and the oil pick up filter is too tight . used the 14mm hex key in tool kit but couldn't get enough leverage. Ended up rounding the tool . Going to have to buy a socket hex . My question is if I put too much pressure on it will I damage the crankcases ? Has anyone had this problem ? Going to get a low range torque wrench as well so it doesn't happen again.

  2. If it`s the same as on a 749, screws horizontally into the right hand side of the engine, then they can be tight, very tight in fact.
I use a 14mm hex socket and a long breaker bar.
First time I tried to remove it I thought I`d end up popping an eyeball out before I got the bloody thing undone.

  3. Good to know thanks Pierre .
