Ok . . . I'll try AGAIN

  1. Just joined the site. Not a cluewhat I'm doing . . . not a clue. Just managed to lose the pictures of my bikes - the ones I was trying to post . . . ah well.

50 year old solicitor back to bikes after a twenty odd year break. Fell off all those years ago - some git overfilling his deisel tanks and consequently introducing the back of my head to the kerb on the North Circular. 45mph, 5 brain heamorrages, total amnesia and a coma later . . . ah well.

An interesting experience for sure but one I could have done without.

Why back to bikes? Well talk about impulse buying, I was at an auction and there was a 907ie, one owner, 1,800 miles and I had to have it. And you were wondering who the hell loves those things . . . now you know. (I used to have a 750 Paso, great bike). Based in Central London but the bikes (907, 916, 851) are at home in Wales. If I can work out how to get the photos into my posts I'll be only too happy to share them with you, my fellow addicts.

Ok I think that's got the 916s sorted - can't for the life of me get the others done.

  7. Thanks Steve - she's a 916"S".

They built a total of 199 of them in 1994 so she's really quite rare. Most of the "S" models went straight to track so there are -I imagine - very few left. She has had two owners and done about 6,000 miles. The Termis are factory fitted, as is all the carbon, and when cold she's a bitch to start and when hot (she's only "cold" or "hot" - nothing inbetween) she runs as lumpy as a BIG V8. Loud? I have no idea how it gets through an MOT - she reminds me of a WWII ground attack aircraft (and I love her).

(Worked out why I can't post pictures of the 851 - they're all too large - the files not the pictures)

  8. Welcome Rhino......reminds me of the 907ie I did the Bol on many years ago when it was held at Le Castellet.......

  9. I like 907ie's. If mine hadn't turned into an evil handling potential death trap after 10 years and 55'000 kms, I'd still have it.

  10. Welcome Rhino.Love the 916

  11. Thanks nodrog
gliddofglood I've never heard off any of the Pasos doing that (he says concerned) what happened . . . and why?

  12. I really don't know. The shock was reconditioned. The forks must have had their oil changed. The tyres were new. What was there left? I wondered if the chassis - a pretty strange one for Ducati - didn't experience some fatigue over the years. But it's nothing to worry about. You'll notice it if it happens and it isn't sudden. But it definitely felt uncertain in corners towards the end of my ownership, like the front was going to wash out and I am sure if I'd pushed it, it would have. As I couldn't corner it without worrying - and I'm not a GP ace but a fairly enthusiastic taker of corners (certainly no chicken strips on those 170s) - I figured it had to go, much to my chagrin.

  13. Hello and welcome to the site, love the pics by the way.
