I like Oliver's Mount but haven't been since 2011 - got a fixed penalty from a member of North Yorks constabulary who was strategically placed just past the top of Staxton and it put me off going. Irrational perhaps but the boys in blue are always out in force when any motorcycle events are staged. These days I would rather avoid weekend rides.
From my gaff it means the A64 and I would rather be shot with shit! I cannot imagine how jammed that route will be this weekend!
You could head up the A1 to Topcliffe and go on the A168/170 - much better route than the A64, but 20 miles futher?
yeh choose another route like the a170. then use the country lanes at east ayton. or come down the a171
.......or watch it on telly........costs less and you can drink beer..........and no plod................
