  1. Hi all ,
I thinking of buying and fitting an open clutch cover, will all the springs fall out when removing existing cover ?

  2. No.

  3. No, the cover is just a cover.

If you go with an open cover, you'll probably also want to swap the springs for stainless versions that won't rust, and a bling pressure plate.

  4. One thing to remember. If you put an open clutch cover on is don't let water get in there. It's ok for it to get wet when you're riding as the heat and spin will keep it dry but don't let it stand and get wet or get water in there when you wash it as the plates can stick together and you'll not be able to get it in gear or change gear. Ahem....... I know.

Do a search as I remember there are quite a few threads on "Show us yer clutch" and some of the covers and pressure plates IMHO are just awesome.

Matt has a really nice setup on his 1098, but take a look and just purchase the cover and plate you like best.

Other things frequently changed at the same time are the bolt cups (or one integral type), bolts themselves and shiny SS springs.
