Evening , Just after some advice please with respect to above, I see a few ducatis as well as monsters with the open clutch covers, possibly looking at purchasing one , my knowledge about them is limited other than it looks pretty smart ! What are the purposes of having these and general cost ? Is it a cover or whole kit which would be needed? many thanks and happy new year to all
Theoretical purpose is to allow clutch to run cooler and prevent clutch dust from accumulating - in reality most people fit them because they like the look and to enhance that Ducati dry clutch/bag of spanners noise. All sorts are available - carbon, ally, titanium etc. They are all pretty much interchangeable for all dry clutch models - take your pick. You only need the cover but, make sure you also get the requisite anodised pressure plate as you don’t really want to expose a skaggy standard pressure plate! Oh yes, plus sparkly stainless springs and caps.
