  1. Off to Calais in the Jam Jar next week. Any advice on the mess down there. I looked at going rond the back to Folkestone but it is a long way and Eurotunnel are closing the access from the A20.

    I can't see much gain in A2 -M2 either

  2. Go to Cornwall instead

  3. I did last week - same situation !

  4. Newhaven to Dieppe - no problem and a much nicer ferry.

  5. Just back from working in Paris. I took the A2 M2 and found it painless. As for coming back it was a breeze. Yet another example of the BBC propaganda machine hyping it up.

  7. Thanks, The GPS always takes me that way, or tries to. Its the getting to the terminal from the A2 which is the problem as they have shut the access from the A20

  8. Came back to Dover on Wednesday 8pm,
I always use the M2,A2 as it brings you straight to the port, we had no problem getting too or waiting at the port, coming back was via Calais and again no problem getting to the port or waiting,

When approaching calais the road goes under the main road to the Tunnel there was a very long que of hgv's stacked on the hard shoulder but you can drive straight by with no hold ups, does sound like it can change from one day to the next.
