hi I want to fit a new optimate lead, can I just disconnect the battery and fit it? Don't want to bugger up the electrics! Thanks Jess
Theyre not standard fit. Some dealers fit them at PDI. It's simple enough but a couple of points need to be borne in mind. The bike has a power latch system of around 90 seconds. If the the ignition has been turned on, DO NOT disconnect the battery during this time after it's been turned off. When you disconnect the earth lead, make it as clean and quick as possible to avoid any sparks. Push it back out of the way if removing the battery. Like wise when you reconnect, make it positive and quick. On the positive, there are two leads. Make sure they both go back. One has a habit of springing out of place.
Thanks for the replies, it does have one fitted - just the wrong plug for my charger. I'll get it sorted Jess
