Hi can anyone tell me the best optimiser for the panigale ,ive got one off a mate but it doesn't fit the red outlet off the battery, cheers
The official charger comes with a converter The connector that goes to the bike is made by Sicma, Miniseal 4 way If your optimiser uses the Tamiya connector I could build you a converter for £10 as I have both type of connectors
I use a halfords intelligent charger, with a home made tamiya connector on the terminals. Have been using this on all my bikes for around 10 years now.
Most dealers fit an optimate lead at pdi.. The ducati charger hooks up to the diagnostic socket with an adapter for earlier bikes without one. The old tamiya socket is being phased out by many to bespoke connections per brand..... To keep customers loyal I guess, or stuck whichever view you take. if you need a new charger, take a look at Ctek. I've tested them out and firmly believe they are the best on the market now. The MXS0.8 is ideal for bikes. They do a neat connector that stays on the bike that indicates battery status. Means you can see when, and only when the battery needs a charge rather than hooking it up permanently with the risk of sulpha ting the plates.......
I've always used CTEK kit on my cars and bikes (Model XS 3600 has a setting for each) and as Nelly said had the connector fitted to the battery during PDI. The connector outlet is just above the gear selector tucked neatly inside the fairing and has a tight fitting rubber bung to keep out the crap whilst riding. hope this helps
optimiser 4 does not fit back to square 1 think it will have to be the ducati one to save all the hassle
yes mate it does but just sent it back as I thought they said it should plug straight into the original
If using the ctek, this is the flylead I used http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002OHN5NQ/?tag=ducatiforum-21 hope this helps
ps if anyone is using a lithium battery upgrade - do not optimise or cycle it. only charge when flat !!
I know some fit Li-Ion to bikes but even Boeing had their share of probs with fires etc on their latest Dreamliner - Surely the last thing you want is a firecracker up your arse (or your left shin in the case of the Pani)
Sorry to ask a question on an old thread, but having recently bought a Pani V4S i had a service light come on and got advised to run an optimiser and the fault would disappear, as already having an oxford one for my 998 connected it directly to the battery and yes it solved the problem, but noticing there is a connector under the seat, was wondering if anyone knows where to get an adapter as it would save faffing about taking the battery cover off every time. Thanks in advance
