Options For Bezzecchi

  1. It seems Vale is trying to convince Bez to stay with Mooney VR46 for 2024. Respite for Enea or an opening for Martin ? Andy

  2. They have to give/will give Enea another season imo.

And the only man you’d want to replace him is clearly happy where he is (and why wouldnt you be).

  3. I would be like a pig in shit.

  4. Running last year’s bike so, unless Vale can convince Ducati to give Mooney VR46 a 2024 bike, that’s what Bez will be missing if he isn’t offered the factory seat. With a 2024 bike, Bez in Mooney VR46 could very well be the first MotoGP champion in the post 500cc era on a satellite bike. Now there's a thought :D Andy
Just edited this post given we now know Sito Pons’ team won it in the 500cc two stroke era.

  5. Does Bez really want the Germanic pressure of a factory ride? As vr46 can always talk to other manufacturers.
After the last 2 rounds, I'm not sure what European bike is the best, I'm thinking it's the numbers and data feedback that might be the edge currently.

  6. Still has to be the duc for me especially after this weekend...

MotoGP Austria: Brad Binder to Francesco Bagnaia: “You bastards did something on the start!” | MotoGP | News (crash.net)

After losing out on the holeshot to Francesco Bagnaia in both Red Bull Ring races, Brad Binder was certain Ducati has developed something new for their MotoGP race starts.

And Bagnaia later admitted Binder was correct.

KTM’s launch superiority is well known this season and, with Binder starting from a rare front row, not far behind pole man Bagnaia, the South African must have fancied his chances of beating the Ducati to Turn 1.

Although Binder (and team-mate Jack Miller) left second on the grid Maverick Vinales for dust, Bagnaia comfortably won the holeshot battle in both the Sprint and Grand Prix. The pair then remained first and second, respectively, to the chequered flags.

While waiting for Sunday’s podium ceremony Bagnaia, Binder and third-place Marco Bezzecchi were shown a replay of the start on TV.

“Hey, you bastards did something on the start, eh?” Smiled Binder, tapping Bagnaia on the shoulder with his fist.

“My start was f**king good, but… not as good as normal!” Binder added.

Bagnaia didn’t respond and continued watching the replays.

But when later quizzed by the media about why the Ducati seemed to have been so much stronger off the line, he confirmed:

“For the start, it’s clear that it’s something [new] we had to our bike, but it’s something that I prefer someone above - in Ducati - to speak about because I don't want to be the first one [to say what it is].

“It’s something that helped me in the first part of acceleration. That was the moment I was losing the most because they [KTM] can be super aggressive in the first part of acceleration, and us with the carbon clutch it's more difficult, this kind of acceleration.

“But we improved on that and it was so helpful. We won both races and we already had a great chance to do that, thanks to the start.”

MotoGP.com commentator and pitlane reporter Simon Crafar suggested there was also something different about Ducati's holeshot device switch in Austria.

  7. I wonder how much one of those carbon clutches are lol

Would be an incredible turn of events that's for sure.
VR46 still winning titles even after hes retired too would be quite tremendous.

  8. Couldn’t find budget limits in the regs, https://www.fim-moto.com/fileadmin/...ship_Regulations._Updated_25February_2022.pdf but for an anorak, a “MotoGP season brake package” costs capped at €80,000 and the exhaust noise limit is a maximum of 130dbA :scream: Andy

  9. Will Bez get a ‘23 bike in ‘24 ?
The data accumulated and shared between the teams seems to be just as crucial for setup at each round…

  10. That’s my understanding of the Mooney VR46 contract with Ducati. As far as my understanding goes, Ducati are not obliged to offer any ‘development gains’ (like this new clutch we didn’t know we saw in Austria) to customers. FIM regs allows for up to 5 different specifications for the ‘same’ bike. Andy

  11. Staying at Mooney vr46 according to crash.
