  1. Advise please
I hopefully have the option of buying one of the following

2007 5000 mile monoposta service history extras fitted, exhaust, clutch cover crash bobbins tail tidy£8150
2007 12000 mile monoposta service history one owner, exhaust £7600
2007 8800 mile GT completely standard £4800 (I can then spend the difference on this and make it my own, but that increase the value)

    So what one to buy?

  2. Option 3 on the face of it. But there again it's your dosh and your choice. I'm sure you'll do what you think is best :)

  3. Agree with ET, sounds like a good deal.......as you say I wouldn't spend too much on it as you probably won't get all your money back, keep all the original parts. Look at the SC gallery, you don't need to spend much money to make them look super cool.

  4. Which one do you like most, which one do you want?

If you want the mono but buy the GT because its cheaper will you then wonder if you should have gone for the other one, if you want the GT then it's a no brainer, get it.
If you want the mono then thats the one to get.

Tail tidy's and twiddly stuff are easy to get, dont pay through the nose for them, exhausts can be trickier these days but you still have options on these too.

  5. Thanks for your help, looked at the GT today, some of the paint on the engine is starting to flake at the back, other than that it looks ok, full service history, wanted to put an exposed clutch but dosnt look like you can do it on the GT?
List of what I would do
    Black alloy spoked wheels
Racing seat unit from shed x
    Renthal fatbars
    Tail tidy
    Remove rear mudguard
    One off exhaust
    Possibly rearsets?
Rep ain't the engine at a latter date

  6. Some SC owners in the US have converted to a dry clutch. I believe the 848 dry clutch conversion can be made to fit the GT1000. Worth checking the Ducati.ms site for more info.

If you buy your friend's GT, you might want to ride it for a while before deciding what changes (if any) to make.
In addition to switching to lighter wheels/tubeless tyres I also switched to HyperPro progressive fork springs for better control on uneven roads.

My bike has only seen a small amount of paint flaking at the front of the front & on the starter motor. It hasn't really worsened since I bought the bike (2nd hand back in 2009) as I fitted a Fender Extenda to the front mudguard. Rear of the engine looks ok as my bike has a carbon hugger/chainguard from QB World of Carbon.
