Delighted! After placing a deposit in July for an 848 Corse for the New Year, there was a bit of uncertainty regarding whether it would still be available as a 2013 model or whether a new model would be introduced in its place etc. etc. so I was kinda fretting at what I was going to do if things changed. Anyway, it seemed to be sorted(ish) a couple of weeks back when they announced part of the new line-up and then confirmed the rest of the new models this week at Milan. Only thing left was to find out what the new prices were. I think both the dealer and I expected it to go up by a grand which was going to make this touch and go money-wise... I was sitting minding my own business at work on Friday and Ducati Glasgow call out of the blue. Chatting away and then they confirmed the price. A rise of "only" £355 which seems pretty good news considering the slight spec changes from the 2012 model. The larger tank alone is worth a least £1k... and I love the new coour scheme after being a bit unsure. The larger and lighter tank is a serious bonus. Popped in to see them yesterday and they've confirmed my bike will be built in December and barring incident it'll be ready for me to ride away on the first Saturday in March! Perfect! Can't wait. Ducati Glasgow have been excellent to deal with so far. All being well the delivery date will be met as agreed and the p/x price come the time will be at the level we both need it (we've agreed a ballpark one, but it's subject to market at the time of the actual transaction). Would highly recommend Ducati Glasgow based on my experience so far. I know it's early days where the overall picture is concerned as you only find that out when you own one and have to deal with services, problems etc. but so far I'm really pleased with everything they've said and done. Over the moon! Can't wait to be tearing it up on one of these bad boys with the Termis roaring!:biggrin:
I seriously hope they can stick to their production projections for you. They never have before for me :/
Me too. They've got nearly 4 months though and the order has been placed since the end of July... but I still expect to hear it has slipped when the time comes. I'm not gonna stress about it to be honest. First weekend of March is still "winter" I guess. As long as I have it run in fully before the NW 200 I'll be ok with it...sort of.
Hope it's as good as it should be. I loved the 848 Evo demo bike I rode in July. Loved it. With all the extra bits on the Corse I just can't wait to get out on it and make it mine.
Saw it yesterday in the flesh here at EICMA, and I can absolutely assure you that you have made a superb decision!!! The colour scheme is ace, and I reckon it is the pick of Ducatis superbike range right now imho.
I've heard this a few times now so I'm really excited to see one in the flesh. I'm going to the NEC with my old man and my wee boy (2 years old) and they've said it'll be there. Will get a good look around at it!
p You're right about not getting stressed about it. I paid my deposit on a 1098 a few years ago and had 6 months notice. After 8 months they still couldn't tell me when I was going to see it so I canceled. Might have been a blip, but who knows. On the plus side the bike you've chosen is a peach. I now have the 2012 848 Evo Corse SE and I love it. Good choice
Wow, lovely bike. If it takes a bit longer dont fret about it. Do you really want to be riding a brand spanking new bike in January/Feburary when the weather and road conditions will be less than perfect. When you get it, get them to deliver it and then keep it in the house until March/April and then let the party begin
Exactly my thoughts. If it's a week or two later into March it's fine still. I'll be running it in asap unless it's actually snowy so I'll be cleaning it daily I guess. So if it does run late it'll save me some of this I suppose!
nice one! i hope they actually get it to you in time for spring..id take the March delivery date as a very ballpark figure, but as long as youre behind the bubble in early May i think you should be happy.. If i was in the market for a new bike id be very tempted with the 848..its probably the best all round, road going superbike there is...
Yeah. I'd like to think if its being built in December it'll be here in Feb latest. The dealer is gonna confirm once they know. They reckoned it would be here in plenty time.
Couldn't agree more. The best looking bike on the market. Wish my old bones would let me ride something like that.
Seems to be universal praise for this colour scheme. I wasn't sure to start with but I really like it now after seeing it a few times (albeit only in marketing pictures and the odd photo). Will have a good look in person at the NEC next week.
