So despite running everything in the low race settings; I know from the data analyser that my traction control does come into play on most tracks and I've always wondered how much of a difference it makes. Plus on the Panigale ( and S1000RR ) you get all the usual clueless comments about 'relying' on electronics even though you'd need to be a right hero to push against the TC coming out of a corner in my opinion. Turns out the bike does just fine without any of it on track. I damaged my front speed sensor earlier in the week as the wire came unclipped and rubbed through on the wheel and it turned off everything, Traction Control, ABS, Engine Braking as the bike doesn't know when there's a speed differential between the wheels. Just to add to the work my quick shifter was also not working, I tried to sort it out but I think it need removing and cleaning as the rose joints get bunged up with crud sometimes. A bunch more interesting vids with plenty of other bikes to come but here's a lap or two from Oulton Park with OMCC yesterday. Currently my favourite track and I was feeling some serious love for the Panigale. I put the stock baffles in and got through the static testing on a 'check the driveby' basis because it was a Panigale. The fun police were out big time on wheelies so I was letting off a lot to keep the front down but it turned out this got me through the two days as once I tried for some fast laps in the last session the extra revs must have tripped the noise meters and I got black flagged.
Cracking video. For someone who hasn't been riding all that long, you have certainly learned a hell of a lot very quickly.
Its a while since I have been to Oulton; I enjoyed watching that. I notice your hands find their way to the bar ends; I often noticed that of myself when looking at photos etc but didn't realise at the time.
Not sure about the hands, I guess I do it to get some extra leverage but the wide angle camera makes it look more extreme than it is. I use two fingers on the levers.
I also only use two fingers (woheyy) When I did my IAM the bloke was moaning about it saying I wouldn't be able to stop efficiently and it wasn't safe.. I invited him to come to a track day with me, he declined. Everything by the book with those boys
you were going well enough Dave! My camera seems to have packed up for day 2, corrupted files or some bollox, but a 2'07 in a bit of traffic following @dukeman358 and the Dentist on my multi day 1 was...interesting..! And I was going faster day 2, and dragging pegs and stands everywhere. Need to recover those files... Cracking couple of days. @Nelson you missed out dude
Video is great - so wanna ride Oulton! So Royal do you ride up or van/trailer as you're London based aren't you?
The place is incredible, such a good track and it really suits the agile Panigale. We always van to tracks these days so we have all the gear, also @MissPineapple bought a new GSXR1000 trackbike so we needed space to transport three bikes home.
wasn't that much of a fan tbh, even my skyhook was out of shape loads and meaning I had to knock iff the gas up the hill. and I was only doing maybe 2'05 to 2'15 so not quick. although the bumps at at T1 made the bike go all crossed up and front slide a lot on the brakes, which was fun
Cracking laps, and great riding I've only been to Oulton 3 times, but it's probably my favourite track too Back there on July 6th
