'ow Do!

  1. Hello all, registered on here as I've just pulled the trigger on a 2016 1299S that I'll pick up in April. This is my first Duke and having test ridden a 1299 in April last year I cannot wait! With 2 kids I'm only hopeful that I get to ride this bike more than I have the others lately. Love my v-twins but have a lot of respect for fours too (hence the Blade in my harem) as they're great on track.

Anyhoo, looking forward to picking up some good information on here and hopefully meeting up with those of you around the London area.

    Keep it sticky side down!
    :grinning:

  2. Red Rose Radio.

  3. Had to look that up - Lancashire radio station eh? Bit further south-east for me; Derbyshire born and raised.

  4. Welcome, are you counting the sleeps?

  5. Hell yeah, like a 5-yr old waiting for Christmas....

  6. Welcome Dave :)

  7. There was a late night phone-in radio show in the mid 80s (at least) where every caller was greeted with "Ow do," as in "Ow do, Dave?" or "Ow do, Janet?" It was a top programme. Can't remember the host's name, but I bet someone here can.

  8. Congrats on the 1299S purchase. Lets hope there's some decent weather on the way!

  9. Nice one. Welcome

  10. image.jpeg ...and so it finally came to pass that I could pick my bike up after returning from holiday! Very, very happy with it but running-in a bike has to be the most brain-numbing thing you can do. I know there are a lot of folks say to bang it on a dyno and break it in that way but I've got too much mechanical sympathy.

I've started with a few simple mods such as the Akra cans (loud), Evotech tail tidy (tidy), carbon hugger (sweet) and Ducabike clear clutch cover (pointless but I love it). Not sure what's next, probably get her run in first and then decide.

  11. And it was sunny too :Wideyed: welcome :D

  12. Very nice, now how many points have you remaining on your license?

You've not protected the radiators from stones yet.

  13. Ha, thankfully all of them as I have never exceeded any speed limit in the 16 years I have been riding.....;)

I keep visiting the Evotech site and nearly pulling the trigger on rad guards but can't decide if just lower or both. Missus is vetting all purchases currently as she cannot believe how much the bike cost and then all associated parts...need to deliver these to work methinks!
