  1. hello all, thinking of getting some heated grips for my hyper sp, looking at Oxford ones as I've had r&g ones an think there shit, which Oxford ones should I buy as there are a few types ( sports, touring, crusing what are the differences is it just fitting, all opinions welcome

    Cheers

  2. Got the Oxford sports grips on my 1098s. Nice and toasty when needed, but ultra controllable because of the settings. I wouldn't want to be without them on frosty mornings. My body hardly ever gets cold, but my fingertips always did until i got the Oxford grips.

  3. I think I have the premium ones. They are very good but I find it difficult to move the temperature up and down as when I am using them I have thick winter gloves on and it is difficult to push the buttons as there is little to no feel. A switch would be better.

  4. I think it would be better to have a furry squirrel around the front of your fingers, rather than heat underneath.
I tried them and personally, don't think they heat the correct bits.

  5. Another option is to use heated gloves. I've been using a pair of Gerbing heated gloves for years. Linked to a temperature controller, they always keep hands & fingers properly warm & functioning. Easily swapped between bikes when you change your ride too.

  6. Had some on my Moto Guzzi and they were very warm(more so on right hand grip for some reason). Be careful with the wiring as I found it to be very fragile and prone to splitting causing it to short.

  7. Nice one lads for the replays, not sure which way to go now!
    1 hippo hands
    2 heated grips
    3 heated gloves (gerbing xr12s)

Thinking of waiting until bike show at NEC an see if I can get a deal on the gerbing gloves,

What do you lot think an in which order would you go, I've had heated grips on a speed triple which I owned but I still had cold finger tips which was not good

    Look forward to your opinions

  8. I've got Oxford grips, they're good for warmth and adjustability, but obviously you'll still need something to keep the wind off your hands - so on my bike I fitted Acerbis hand guards that replace the bar end weights. If you're on a faired bike obviously this will already be taken care of. The only issue seems to be that the wiring connectors always seem to be dodgy. I had one fail after less than 10 miles and another never worked (I had to rewire as the V7 version of the controller was rubbish). Once up and running they seem to be good and I wouldn't be without them. If you do buy grips don't buy old stock V7 no matter how discounted!
