Get an EPROM tool to remove the chip. Makes life easier. Out of interest, why are you removing the chip?
I have 2 chips and the one fitted makes for harder starting and I'm trying to get my laid up 916 fired up I was hoping to do this today but don't have the EPROM tool thingy
It's still worth knowing what you have in there. A chip with proper fuelling (i.e. different maps for front and rear cylinders) makes a big difference. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/eprom-back-to-back-comparison.78476/
You don't necessarily need a special tool - you can lever it up with a screwdriver (I use a pick that has a 90 degree bend in the end) - just be careful and do it a little at a time on either end and to not bend the legs as you raise it up. I can burn & supply chips for many standard maps.
