Pad advice

  1. I've aquired some P34 4 pad calipers with 40-65mm adapters off a 996R to fit on my 916. I've noticed that in transit the pads have fallen out of the caliper's and have landed in a pool of brake fluid.

Are the pads no longer usable, or is it a case of drying them off and leaving them to dry out.

  2. I put some oil soaked new EBC pads in petrol for half a day, then soaked them in brake cleaner fluid in a sealed jar for a couple of days......(carb cleaner might be better because it doesn't evaporate as fast as brake cleaner....)......but anyway, having left them to dry out after that, I fitted them but was very careful trying them out.......I eventually got to braking very hard at speed on clear roads......Seemed to work fine (but I keep them as spares).

If I were you, I would wipe them over with brake cleaner then dump them in a jam jar with brake cleaner in them and seal the lid for a day..........

  3. Cheers Al. I'll probably end up getting some new pads sooner rather than later :upyeah:
