Hi i just ordered myself a new 959 panigale I've always had harris paddock stands but sold them with my last bike but now need a new pair for my new bike. i saw these on ebay and demon tweaks and wondered if anyone had tried them and are they any good as they seem very cheap. thanks Warrior Alloy Box Front And Rear Stand - Pair | Demon Tweeks
There was a recent series of posts about paddock stands and Warrior was one of the makes discussed. However at £80 off a pair of fairley standard design stands that normally retail at £139 is a bargain. Warrior may be a dudget brand but their quality seems vey reasonable. If push comes to shove Demon have a reasonable returns policy. Andy Oh yes, don't forget bobbins which you could end up paying more than the stands.
The thing I found when I had my 899 was that the rear stand I had used on jap bikes for years, did not lift it high enough. I bought a lightec one. It was expensive but did the job
thanks for the replies - first to order? thats pretty cool. i was hoping for march delivery but it looks like it will be an april build / delivery. got a decent discount on the bike though so happy to wait i already have bobbins from my R6 race bike which will fit. I don't like the large cotton reel plastic types as they can snap the nut off the swing arm in a fall. i will try and find the thread you mentioned and see what it says. I'm tempted with the warrior stands for that price as long as the fit the bike as i read somewhere you need a very wide stand on these bikes.
I had a similar stand for my 899 and it didn't lift the rear wheel high enough... in the end i just bit the bullet and bought the genuine Ducati stands
It's the height you'll need with the 899. The warriors have adjustable arms on the rear so the width should be ok. I
Will the Harris definitely lift it high enough? The lightech ones look good but are similar price to the Harris ones and I really liked them. Wish I kept them! There's also r&g but they're in 3 parts and similar money again to the Harris ones.
Best thing to do this ring Harris they are really helpful and then let me know if it will lift it high enough so I can get rid of my cheap nasty one
Thayer like the bobbins I have. Can't see the point I the OTT ones. I thought the constand ones were meant to be decent for lower priced ones?
I got the rear stand with the bike which was a make do for now but want a Harris one to match the front one I've got
got to say them warrior stands look pretty shit, to many fixings on them end of day a stands a stand think mines motrax about 40/50 pound rear something like that no way ad pay over a 100 just cause it says ducati on the side unless your bikes going to spend 364 days a year on it,
I have a Warrior rear stand and it lifts the rear wheel off the ground no worries. It's not the strongest option but if you're just using it when you park in the garage like I do and for some simple maintenance then it's perfect. And cheap too. I run R&G bobbins in case that makes a difference.
