Painting

  1. Following on a bit from a current thread, love the Multi and tempted by the 2013 model but, apart from the classic red and the expensive Pike Peak's paint ,think the colours a bit dull. Presently love my black Multi. I know all a matter of taste.

Has anyone any experience of custom painting of the Multi and any recommendations and guidance on cost.

Might just have to wait for another 3 years before Ducati change colours

  2. Rage Designs in Warrington do a lot of Ducati's (JHP, Buildbase, GSE to name a few) Mike there will be able to give you a firm quote but I'd be guessing for plain colour you'd be looking at around £700 upwards for a complete bike.

Give him a call 07778 026018 tell him I sent you

  3. Thanks for that and will keep it in mind. Still to test ride the new bike!

  5. That looks excellent. Lovely end result.

  6. Thanks and it can go back to standard in an hour

  7. Nice, that must be a right pain to apply, I guess that was just the white parts that are the wrap? Was it professionally applied?

  8. Yes it was

  9. What sort of money does that cost?

  10. Drop image works an email or call them, seem decent guys and have given me price for some work which seems ok.

  11. Altamura did my bike as a Pikes Peak for me - really pleased with the result.

It's better than the Factory Pikes Peak as there's no lacquering over stickers, just a fabulous paint job.

  12. Here's a picture when I got it back.

Must get some better shots when it finally defrosts outside, but at the moment my Bandit is taking all the winter weather abuse and the MTS is tucked away in the garage waiting for the thaw!

  13. Altamura are very expensive

  14. You're not kidding - I got quoted £1500 for a simple single colour change. If they didn't want the work I'd have preferred it if they'd just been honest.

  15. Fujack - Not sure I'd agree with that.

There are cheaper ways of getting the job done, but if you compare like for like in terms of quality and service I think they are decent value.

I've seen bikes done by Dream Machine which don't cost much less than Altamura and I don't think the DM ones are as good.

  16. That's 25% more than I paid for everything on my bike (assuming your price is inc VAT)

  17. I better not tell you what mine cost then

  18. Yes, including VAT. In writing.

They tried to flower it up with lots of detail about the process, but frankly for a single colour job it's a ridiculous fee - therefore I can only assume they were trying to empty my wallet, or they didn't want the job but didn't have the spine to tell me straight. Either way, it irretrievably soured my opinion of them.

Even more so now I've seen in the other thread what they charged for your job - taking the f*cking piss comes to mind
