Panigale drive chain length

  1. Quick question, has anyone checked/counted their chain links ? Now before you suggest that I need to get out more  I'm not trying to beat the winter withdrawals by randomly counting Panigale parts  I normally change the final drive gearing and I was doing a little research to this end. I noticed that despite the owners manual + Afam, Renthal etc quoting a 106 link chain, my Pani has a 104 link (double/triple checked) jobbie ???

My calculations i.e 15T front, 39T rear and 24" between centre of gearbox output shaft / centre rear axle comes out at the 104 links that I have. Now I am wondering is it a mis-print or do I have the wrong length chain. I am not sure if the eccentric tensioner would allow for such a differance.

Anyway I wonder if someone out there could do me a favour and check their chain and post back. Thanks :upyeah:

  2. what i do know : changing to the 41 'upgrade' makes the chain too short!

  3. Issue solved got word from Bologna, the manual is mis-printed, 104 links is correct...............
