Interesting topic for those that take their Panigale on track (or road for that matter!). I am posting this in case it got lost in a slightly different to thread title, but all info here:- https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/1299-oil-leak.86593/#post-1852568
Collection of the specific oil level advice I received here: As you’ve read Panigale’s do need a different oil level for track riding than road riding, but both oil levels need to be set when the engine is hot. Once the engine is up to running temp (at least 90°c) it should be turned off and left for around 3-5 mins. Then upright on level ground the oil should be between the two lines. If the oil level is checked when the engine is cold the oil level will be at the top of the sight glass (if filled for road use). For track use we’d run the oil level lower, so using the method above the oil should just register in the bottom of the sight glass. One of the difficulties we have for servicing is that Panigale’s do use oil between services, so to protect the engine and clutch we would set the oil level to the top line. All this does mean there is a balance to be found; running the Ducati advised road level is best unless the bike is used regularly on track. Essentially for track day use the oil level is ideal at the lower line when cold, which equates to 3.2 litres oil in the engine. PLEASE NOTE: This does contradict the Ducati manual which specifically states that the oil level should be checked when cold and be between the two level lines
