In summary - Do you own a 2022 V4? If so apply to your nearest Ducati dealer for 2023 software updates that normally would be free, but its a Ducati, so we will charge you lots of money for it.
But would a non track day guy/girl notice the difference? It still miffs me that they make you pay for a software update that fixes things. Typical Audi behaviour and why my 1299 is my last.
Highly unlikely. It only comes into play when you’re giving it what for. Give any modern superbike what for on the roads and you’ll soon be leaving this world…
These updates are not the same as the Evo updates from the Ducati Performance catalogue. These are collectively a development to improve the 2023 bikes and are backwards compatible to 2022. Ducati have chosen to make them available for free. Updates get applied to most of the later bikes when serviced, and the same applies to these. If it’s a 2022 bike, when it’s serviced they’ll get uploaded. There is a mention of a labour charge if the bike is booked just to take the updates due to the time it takes, but in all truth, that’s not unreasonable at the moment with the work loads on the network. That’s at the discretion of the workshop btw.
