899 Panigale

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by evoarrow, Feb 9, 2015.

  1. How many more years will the pani have before being replaced? I mean a complete new model?

  2. Would have thought we still have another three at least. The end will be in sight once we start to see evo/corse models as they normally indicate it's time to empty the parts bin.

  3. Are there evo and corse models planned within the next, say 2 years?

  4. Wouldn't have thought you would see any on the 1299 as its too new, the 899 hasn't had a colour change since launch so would've thought at a minimum that would likely happen soon.
Of the two variants, would have thought 899 would see an evo/corse first, however under Audi who knows!

  5. thank you

  6. You thinking of buying?

  7. 2 more years would be my guess for 1299, you will see a evo 899 next year then all will change.

  8. Just checking. All I can do is plan at the moment

  9. If history is anything to go by then we normally get a change of superbike every 5-6 years so my guess is around 2017-2018.

  10. Hmmmmm I am not so sure, the 848 was released 2007/2008 and was replaced with the 899 panigale 2013
The 1199 was released 2011 all they have done is released a slightly bigger bike for 2015 but are still calling it a panigale it could still run for many years yet under the name panigale but bigger cc's, how long did the 749/999 last 5 to 6yrs ?
Mind you the trellis frame on the older bikes ran for years n years now replaced with the monocoque.
In theory each release of bike that has more cc is a new model irrespective of what they call it?

  11. Monster 1993 - still going 22yrs later
    Supermono 1993 - 1995
    916 1995 - 1997
    996 1998 - 2000
    748 1994 - 2002
    998 2002 - 2004 (including Matrix version)
    749 2003 - 2008

Conclusion is that the monster seems to be the longest running model

  12. First 916 monopostos were 94, so that gives a 10 yr tweaking span on the 916 with bigger lumps etc.
Surely it will just depend on the machine sales. If no one is buying we will see frequent tweaks, if they are
selling well then we will see minor/zero revisions.
I would imagine in these days of Audi ownership, the next gen bikes are already being worked on,
to be fired out when the market requires it.

  13. Remember that you are much better getting a model that's been a around for a few years and had all the issues ironed out.

  14. Thats what i always do. Buy it once they have sorted the issues , and buy a new bike as its about to be tweaked slightly.

got my 848 as the 848 evo was released (saved £2k)
1199 as 1299 was realesed saved even more

  15. I think I already have it. For me anyway. But shops have big windows for a reason.
