I'm about to do my first European bike trip and I'm thinking of buying some pannier liners for my Multistrada. Presumably Ducati's own will be a great fit but I've also seen cheaper versions on ebay. I've also considered the option of buying waterproof "drybags" from a company like Ortlieb. Has anyone any recommendations based on practical experience? Thanks.
Just back from 4 day very wet 1500 mile France trip and had the Ducati pannier liners, look the biz, fit well and very well made. Makes it easier carting your gear into hotels etc. I thought the panniers themselves may leak so took the precaution of wiping the 'O' ring seals with a little silicone grease - no leaks = well impressed. Enjoy your trip!
+1 for the Ducati liners. Fit perfectly in the panniers and top box, always kept the inside totally dry and look absolutely stylish! They come with shoulder bands if that concern you
Thanks, I couldn't ask for a better recommendation than that. I must admit I was a bit concerned about the quality of the cheaper items listed on ebay and was happy to opt for Ducati's own liners but I wasn't sure how waterproof they might be. I'm hoping for a week of sunshine but won't worry now about all my kit getting soaked if I get caught in a few storms! Thanks again.
