Panniers, that's me very happy

  1. Had a minor accident last year where a mate ran into the back of my bike and smashed my N/S pannier.
So, I've been scouring E-Bay and bought a new back plate for £60 still in it's wrapping.
From my smashed pannier I saved the white colour coded piece and that was it!
Last week I found a pair of scratched panniers on E-Bay for £100 so I bought them instantly.
Today I ordered the outer shell from my local dealer for £50. Making a grand total for what is effectively a brand new pannier, of £210. That's plenty of money saved for an hours labour rebuilding it :upyeah: plus I saved a good mate many pounds as he's paying:wink:

  2. nice work.

Just make sure you haven't developed Prescient Luggage of Doom - a mate of mine lent his bike to another mate, and bike only had one pannier on - guess which side it landed on? If he ever tries to lend me a bike with a top box, I'm running...

  3. Tt, only 50 quid for the outer shell ?
That is a Blinding deal, especially given the price of just the pair of lids.

  4. I thought so as well but that is only 10% off the RRP. The coloured plastic is £80, the cost comes from the lock, clips, straps, screws, rubber seal and all the other shitty little bits that complete the pannier!
