HI All I have acquired a pantah rolling chassis with a 900 monster engine loosely fitted Any advice on completing the build gratefully received Thanks Dave Sheffield
I feel sure there are a number of people on here who may be able to provide advice however a little more detail may be required regarding the current state of the project and what needs to be completed.
It's been stood many years , the engine robbed for racing, its a full refurb , but the plan is to build it up , get the exhaust manufactured, then pull apart for powder coating , painting etc. I'm guessing monster electrics will be required? Will monster engine run on pantah ignition system? The original swinging arm has already been adapted to fit the 900 engine Pics to follow
Its actually a 900SS IE motor, I plan to run carbs tho, wondering about the ignition system, pick ups etc
Tell ignitech and you will get the correct set up including the junior power connector for the pulser coil. You'll then only have to wire up the remaining 4 wires which are positive, earth, coil 1 and coil 2. Also fit mosfet regulator/rectifier at same time which will suit 3 phase ie generator.
So Ignition unit bought and wired up today, Spun the engine ....no spark Checked connections , checked the earth , all correct , so I don't know what's up . Stuck a multi meter on the ignition unit and there's very little voltage coming out , 0.5 volt, there's definitely 12v going in , Frustrating is an understatement, I've emailed ignitech ,but no response as yet Any thoughts anyone ? Cheers Dave
Update The beast runs , but way too rich , so the carbs need work and I'm not happy how the carb on the front pot sits, major rethink there or...2 into 1 inlet manifold and 1 big carb ..apparentlythe scrambler uses this set up with injection .any thoughts anyone ?
Here's my Pantah with a 900 engine, good idea running the later ie engine that doesn't have the oil return lines, it's a pain to get around (second pictures shows adapter required). I've fired it up but have been too busy to get it dialled in, I'm running stock ignition and PHM40's.
If you need an ignition unit holder there is one made for the RG500 in aluminium that's only £20 new https://www.performancefab.co.uk/ignitech-mount-bracket
Hi CJBarber Lovely bike. May i ask about the fuel tank? Is it home made or came from a manufacturer? Thank you Filippo
