1299 Part Number For This Bolt

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by PeteKeys, Sep 30, 2019.

  1. Hi all

I have scanned the on-line parts catalogues and can't find the number for these bolts/screws - see circled in red below. Any ideas anyone?

NB they are different from all the other fairing screws marked 1 - part no 77211091C which are priced at £4.21 each!!

  2. That's a lug moulded to the fairing, isn't it? The bit you've circled anyway.

  4. Ah, I can see how that works. So they screw through the under tray for the headlight, through the rediator cowl to that lug (presumably with a clip on it)

  5. the thread insert is a rubber compression nut, and is just pushed in the fairing receptacle.
the small metal spacer is held with 'best guess pixie magic' and falls out all the time, so i dabbed a little silicone grease on mine.

  6. Makes sense. You can tell I've never had my Pani's clothes off yet. :)

  7. then top tip, make sure you remove the key guard and the connected inner fairing covers before taking the side fairings off.. or you will snap the upper fairing retaining slots.
also if the rubber guides for the rearmost fairing lugs are dry and difficult to use, then also a small blob of silicone grease helps

  9. Excellent - thanks for that !!

Hmm - now I think I know what those two little bits are that have been knocking around my workshop for a while - now i know, i wonder if i can find them

  10. Pani has the most convoluted fairing fixings ever ... I hate anything panel related on it !!!

  11. i agree.. only the 999r was worse with carbon fairings that felt like they would snap etc

  12. When you’ve had them on and off a few times it is not so bad. You soon learn what has to come off and what can stay, and the correct order in which to proceed. Those thin bolts on each side under the nose were push-fit rivets on the earlier Panis.

  13. I've had it off on my 999R and on my Pani R, the Pani R is by far the hardest to have it off on :bucktooth:

  14. agreed - i used to hate taking the panels off but now I've done it a few times its actually quite quick. Other than the huge number of screws, the panels always click together quite nicely
